How to activate your Lovys smartphone insurance?

Once you have signed your contract and created your Lovys account, we will ask you to download the Lovys application. You will find your contract in the app and, most important, you will be able to activate your smartphone insurance.

This is a crucial step and without this, we cannot protect your phone. Why? This is because it lets us see the condition of your smartphone at the time of your subscription. In fact, telephone insurance fraud is widespread! You'd be surprised how many people try to get reimbursed for the breakage of a phone that is totally different from the one they insured.

There are three parts to activating your insurance:

  • A request for your IMEI number (the identifier for your phone)

  • Checking your screen - you'll need to swipe your finger to see a photo

  • An analysis of the general condition of your smartphone - we will ask you to film both sides of it (tip: use a mirror)


Once this step has been completed, we will activate your insurance in just a few minutes!

When does the cover start and end?

Your Lovys phone insurance will take effect after activation and after the 15 days grace period ends. Not before. This step is essential, as it allows us to assess the general condition of your mobile. As for the end of your contract, it is up to you! All our insurance policies are without commitment. This means that you can cancel at any time, in a few clicks, directly from your customer area.

What should I do if my phone breaks?


  • Partial breakage


If dropped, the screen usually cracks. This is normal, as it is the most fragile part of your device. But sometimes the buttons are also damaged. In any case, thanks to our breakage insurance for your phone, the repair costs will be covered if the damage prevents you from using your device.

  • Total breakage


A total breakage occurs when your phone becomes unusable as a result of an accident. And above all, irreparable, even by the best of technicians. In this case, once your claim has been declared from your customer area and approved by our teams, we will send you a new smartphone (the same or an equivalent).

How to make a claim (theft, breakage, water damage, etc.)?

If your phone is still in working order, you can make your claim directly from the Lovys application. Otherwise, you can also access your customer area from your computer. You can also send us an email with the details of your claim to support@lovys.com. In any case, it will only take you a few minutes.

  • If the phone is stolen


We will then need proof that you have filed a complaint with the gendarmerie or police station and proof that your SIM card has been blocked. You can send us these documents directly from your customer area. Please note that you only have three days to report the theft of your phone.

  • If it is a total or partial breakage


A video of your phone will then be required to validate your claim. Again, you can send it to us via your customer area. If you are unable to do this, we will ask you to send your smartphone to our repair partner so that they can examine and repair it if possible. The shipping is of course at our expense and not yours.

  • If it is a question of oxidation, short-circuit or water damage


You have five days to report your claim from your customer area so that we can repair or replace your device. When you make your declaration, we will ask you to send us a video of your smartphone, which helps us to assess the damage.

How does a refund or replacement phone work?

Once your claim has been declared and approved by our teams, your phone will either be repaired or renewed. We always give priority to repair if this is possible. Thanks to our extensive network of some 800 technicians throughout France, we will be able to take charge of the repair quickly.

If you don't want to go to a technician, no problem! You can send your phone to our repair centre and we will take care of everything. Lovys, of course, pays for the shipping.

In cases when your mobile phone unfortunately cannot be repaired, for example in case of smartphone theft, we will send you a replacement phone. This new smartphone will be refurbished to the same high standard as the old one. Why refurbished? Because it's better for the planet, quite simply!

You will only be charged the deductible for the repair or replacement of your phone and you will not have to pay anything in advance!

Is there a waiting period?

Yes, there’s a 15 days grace period. Only after this will you be able to enjoy the guarantees of your smartphone insurance. Please note that you have to activate your smartphone insurance in order to benefit from your guarantees. How? Start by downloading the Lovys app, the steps will be clearly explained to you.

Is my smartphone insured abroad?

Can I take out smartphone insurance for my child? For someone else?


  • Subscribing for your child


As the legal guardian of your child, you have every right to take out telephone insurance for him or her. You can do this until they come of age. To subscribe in your child's place, you just need to fill in your own details when you sign the contract. Be sure to indicate the make and model of your child's phone, not yours.   • Subscribing for someone else


Your parents, your spouse, or a friend... whoever it is, you can't subscribe for them. To take out our online phone insurance, you must be the owner and user of the phone.

What is the maximum guarantee?

At Lovys there is no guarantee limit, if your smartphone needs to be repaired or replaced, we will cover these expenses. You only have to pay the deductible, which varies between €50 and €90 depending on the model and brand.

I have several IMEI numbers, which one should I choose?

First of all, let's review what an IMEI number is. This is simply the unique identification number of your phone. Think of it as the number plate for your smartphone.

To activate your phone insurance, you will need this as it is essential in order to block your device in case of loss or theft. Where can I find the IMEI number? Simply dial *#06# and the IMEI number will appear on your screen. It can also be found on the purchase invoice of your smartphone.

If you have more than one phone, you have more than one IMEI number. The one you need to tell us is the one that corresponds to the mobile you want to insure, quite simply.

How do I cancel my mobile phone insurance?

Do you want to leave us already? 💔 Good news for you (not so good for us), cancelling your phone insurance is very easy. Go to your customer area and click on terminate. Your Lovys subscription will end immediately.
