Definition: what is a “cookie”?

A cookie is a small computer file, a tracker, that is placed and read when you use an online service, whatever type of device you use (computer, smartphone, e-reader, internet-connected games console, etc.).

Cookies have many uses and allow the party that issues them to identify the device and store certain information about the use of the online service (your customer ID, your choice of language). Some of these uses are strictly necessary for the online service to work and are therefore exempt from consent. Others, which do not meet these criteria, require the site visitor’s consent before the cookies are placed.

How do we use cookies?

When you visit our websites www.lovys.com, www.go.lovys.com and your user area in the browser (hereinafter the “Sites”), as well as the mobile version of your user area, trackers may be placed on your device by Lovys or by our partners.

There are 4 types of trackers, used for the following purposes:

1. ensuring our Sites and our app work properly — strictly necessary cookies
2. improving the visitor experience by remembering their preferences — functional cookies
3. ‍measuring our Sites’ audience and analysing visitor behaviour — audience measurement cookies
4. ‍showing advertising tailored to visitors’ interests — advertising cookies

When you accept them, the cookies above give us access in particular to the following information:

• Identifiers of the device used;
• Type of operating system used by your device;
• Type and version of the browser used by your device;
• Connection dates and times;
• Browsing data on our Sites;

Lovys and its partners use strictly necessary cookies to ensure our Sites work properly. This is why these cookies do not require your consent.

These cookies allow us to provide you with personalised features when you use our Sites.

Audience measurement cookies

These cookies allow us to measure the number of visitors to our Sites. They also allow us to analyse how you use them so that we can improve how they work.

Advertising cookies

We use these cookies to personalise advertising on our Sites and partner sites, and to measure its effectiveness, based on the pages you visit.

Trackers installed on the mobile version of the user area

Lovys does not place cookies on its mobile app.

However, Lovys and its partners use two types of trackers on your user account in the mobile version:

1. Trackers that are strictly necessary for the app to work properly;
2. Audience measurement trackers that allow us to analyse your behaviour on the app in order to improve how it works.

How to manage cookies

Managing cookies with Lovys

Lovys gives you full control over the cookies placed on your device through the information banner displayed the first time you visit our Sites and the app.

You can choose to accept or refuse all cookies, or to allow only some of them, except for strictly necessary cookies, which are essential for our services to work properly and are therefore placed automatically.

You can also change your cookie choices at any time using our preference settings tool, available via the “Use of Cookies” link at the bottom of every page of the site or in the drop-down menu in the app.

Please note that cookies play an important role in how our services work. As a result, refusing or deleting cookies may affect the availability and functioning of the services.

Managing cookies in your browser

You can delete all cookies already on your device by clearing your browser’s browsing history. This will delete all cookies from the sites you have visited.

Please note, however, that you may lose some saved information (such as login details or preferences for the site www.lovys.com).
